Mary had a chronic case of halitosis. Her breath ponged.<\/p>\n

She was so self-conscious about it that she always held a handkerchief in front of her mouth.<\/p>\n

One day, James and Mary met.<\/p>\n

They began a courtship that progressed without either one of them knowing about the other\u2019s problem.<\/p>\n

She was equally nervous and had brought with her an array of mouth fresheners and mints to sweeten her breath.<\/p>\n

Mary was in the bathroom when James remembered \u2014 to his horror \u2014 that he\u2019d left his smelly socks in there.<\/p>\n

There seemed to be nothing left to do but confess to his smelly feet.<\/p>\n

Mary was thinking the same thing.<\/p>\n

She opened the bathroom door and there stood James.<\/p>\n
